The Bukchon Hanok Village in Seoul, South Korea is possibly one of the most charming part of town the city has to offer. It is home to hundreds of traditional houses, called hanok and walking down the streets bring you into a place of calm and quiet. I would recommend going early in the morning to avoid the tourist crowds and get a good photo taking opportunities.
The funny thing that stood out was the number of ‘please keep quiet’ signs peppered along the streets. If you attempt to be slightly rowdy, for instance being in the midst of a very exciting selfie taking session, residents living in these traditional houses would not hesitate to come out just to shush you. It’s totally hilarious to watch the fierce Ahjushi(s) and Ahjuma(s) come out with a broom in hand.
